Shin Jiwon
Vessel of Stillness
This work presents a quiet and contemplative image of a vessel, rendered through repetition and layered texture. The surface is composed of fine vertical rhythms, within which fragments of mother-of-pearl subtly emerge, reflecting light and time. Rather than depicting an object itself, the work shifts attention toward presence and the experience of quiet perception. The vessel becomes a metaphorical form—suggesting containment, silence, and continuity—while the restrained composition encourages the viewer to pause, allowing perception to unfold beyond the visible surface.
